I should have found a cheap bed
Where to rest my poor head
But the hostel was miles
And the man was all smiles
So I took a b&b instead
I should have early sallied forth
And my way further north
But I woke feeling old
With an overdue cold
Substantially less than a penny'sworth
I should say something witty
About William's wee city
But I've frittered away
The whole of the day
In a castle both medieval and pretty (Warwick)
It's been a visit here of 'shoulds'
Instead of the usual 'coulds'
But holiday patter
Doesn't really matter
And in spite of it all, it's been good!

Yeh, pictures at last. It looks lovely! All those autumn colours. Looking a bit chilly though - not beach weather I presume? More blogging & photos required, keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's been a bit of a challenge cos I've had a beautiful English cold which has kept me housebound for a couple of days. Consequently I sadly won't be able to visit your mother this time round. I hoped to be able to but just haven't had enough energy. Am to York today sedately and then Durham and Edinburgh. Please convey my thanks and apologies to her :-(
ReplyDeletewell I finally made it here. And its GREAT. Its lovely to hear your news but sorry to hear about your cold. Yes Stonehenge is a bit overrated I suppose but I still got spooked by it, Oh no I think I went to Avebury is that another lots of stones...?
ReplyDeleteHOT weather here. Planted black cabbages, side sprouting broccoli and corn-salad which is not corn but will be salad when it grows more.
